This past December 15th, more than 15 volunteers from both ASCE YMF and the UNLV Student Chapter came out to support and volunteer at the annual Magical Forest event organized by Opportunity Village, the not-for-profit organization serving to enhance the lives of adults in the Southern Nevada community with intellectual disabilities.

On Saturday, October 27th, the Las Vegas YMF and the UNLV ASCE student chapter participated on a group hike to the Arizona Hot Springs along the Colorado River.

Over 20 volunteers attended the Fall 2018 Green-Up at the Las Vegas Wash this past Saturday, October 13, 2018. Organized by the Las Vegas Wash Coordination Committee (LVWCC), a partnership created to manage and protect the Las Vegas Wash, the Green-Up event offered ASCE YMF the opportunity to promote active participation in community service to its volunteers.

A great night with even better friends, karaoke night was a blast! Food, drinks and music provided a great opportunity to unwind and enjoy a night out with friends; sponsored by ASCE YMF.

The ASCE Southern Nevada Branch and YMF hosted the first City Hall Drive in Las Vegas on Thursday, May 24th. The group visited with four city council members: Seroka, Coffin, Fiore and Anthony to discuss local infrastructure and future needs.

The Southern Nevada Branch YMF kicked off the 2018 year by helping out at the Southern Nevada Region 18th Anniversary Future City Competition on January 20th, 2018.

Whoever said things can’t grow in the desert was surely mistaken! This past Saturday, December 2, 2017, a couple of our younger Members volunteered their time at a local elementary school garden build.

On May 13, 2017, 28 young engineers departed the base of the Hoover Dam by kayak to begin an epic (8 hour) voyage down the Colorado River.

On March 6th, three Las Vegas ASCE YMF members departed on a short road trip down to Irvine, California. The trip’s goal was to not only support the University of Nevada, Las Vegas’s ASCE Student Chapter at the Pacific Southwest Conference (PSWC)

And this year’s 2017 Mathcount Competition State individual winner and team winning coach both hail from Southern Nevada!

On Saturday, March 18, 2017 the National Association of Women in Construction (NAWIC) Las Vegas Chapter #74 held their annual local level CAD/Hand Drafting Competition for high school students.

It’s back to school for Las Vegas YMF—back to Ruth Fyfe Elementary School! Las Vegas YMF collaborated with NSPE to once again participate in the Ruth Fyfe Elementary School Math/Science/Literary Night where students and their parents could enjoy different types of educational activities.

Las Vegas YMF volunteered once again at Las Vegas Rescue Mission, a nonprofit organization that feeds, shelters, and serves hundreds of community members in the valley. LV YMF helped with the 4:30 community dinner that was open to the public and served over 500 meals.

Las Vegas YMF continues its annual tradition of volunteering at Las Vegas’ favorite charity.

The Las Vegas Younger Member Forum (YMF) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) hosted a Kickball game against the University of Nevada, Las Vegas(UNLV) ASCE Student Chapter on Saturday November 19th.

On August 28, Las Vegas ASCE YMF members and friends volunteered at Las Vegas Rescue Mission and helped feed 150 people.
