What made you join the LV YMF Board?
I was very active in the ASCE student chapter at the University of Nevada, Reno. Joining the ASCE YMF board was an obvious decision for me. It has been a great way to make lots of new friends and expand my professional network.

How did you get into Civil Engineering?
During my freshman year orientation at UNR they called each engineering

discipline for a tour. Environmental Engineering had five people stand up for

their tour; so I decided to check it out. Turns out I really like Environmental

Engineering.

Fun fact about Michael:
My last name translated to English is Firestone. I have yet to receive any royalties from the tire company.
