YMF vs. UNLV Students Kickball Game

The Las Vegas Younger Member Forum (YMF) of the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) hosted a Kickball game against the University of Nevada, Las Vegas(UNLV) ASCE Student Chapter on Saturday November 19th. The event was held to give the student chapter the ability to meet and network with YMF members in a fun and relaxed environment. To ease of student access, the game took place at Paradise Park located within 2 miles of the UNLV campus. A total of 30 professionals and 15 students registered for the event.

The event started at 11 AM with snacks and refreshments during check-in. The first game was a mixed game with each team consisting of both students and professionals. This first game allowed the students and professionals to network while playing for the same team. After the mixed game lunch was provided. This time gave everyone the opportunity network and refuel before the final game.

Finally, the Students vs Professional Kickball game was played as the last activity of the day. After one hour of play the students were down 2-7 at the bottom of the 7th and final inning. In the final inning, the students scored five runs, tying the game at 7-7. At the end of the inning the captains met with their teams and decided to end the game at a tie. However, both teams said they would claim the title next year.
